Turbone
My old stereo finally broke down and I had to purchase a new one. Got it on Ebay for $100 less than the store ($250 @ Circuit City). Its a Kenwood EZ500, flip down face and a bunch of other goodies. Got it going into 2 10in subs powered by a 250W amp and 2 Sony 3ways in the doors. The system rocks! I thought my old one sounded ok This blows it away I know all you younger folks get into this stuff, I hope you can appreciate us "older" guys like good systems too. Btw, the pocket above it is not stock. Theres usually a equalizer there for the stock radio. I got the pocket from a EA81 GL and made a faceplate for it. Can never have enough storage
northguy
Looks good, Rob. Makes me want to shoot a pic of the Sony I put in the XT6 and the Panasonic in the Brat. Both are custom installs with too many amps for the small space thet're in. Is that, by the way, the title to a Jeff Beck song on the face of the player? I was wondering if anyone would recognize the song. Yup, its an old Jeff Beck album. I've been burning some of my old cassettes to CD so I can listen to them in the car. I got stuff from the early 70's

Turbone
Mykeys Toy gave me some links to some places and products. I did some (alot) of research on different makes and I came up with the Kenwood. The subs are off brand, I got them from Mykeys and the amp is a cheapo I got off Ebay, used. The Sony 3ways were in the car when I got it. But I think I have the right combo (for now) and its sounding pretty good. I've been burning about 5-6 CD's a night, I have to record them to my HD first from the cassette player. I went and bought a nice Onkyo system off of Craigslist (Amp, Cassette, 5 CD changer) for just $65. I've been making some good scores lately from Craigslist
Ever Victorious
Did you have another aftermarket deck in there before, or was it the stock one? If it was stock, did you have to rewire everything, or was a wiring harness adapter good enough?
Turbone
No, I had a Sony deck in it. But it was in the car when I bought it. It doesnt have a wiring adapter either, the sub wiring is straight back from the deck with 12g RCA. The door speakers are actually wired to the stock harness. I think the 89's might be wired differently because I didnt have any problem once I figured out which were the correct wires. Each one had its own ground wire. I wasnt looking forward to running new wire into the doors :-\

Scoobywagon
Makes me think I should take pics of my system and post them. Alpine 3-disc in-dash changer, Alpine EQ w/ remote head, Clarion 3-way Crossover, 30x2 Coustic for highs, 100x2 Sony Mobile ES for mids and Lanzar 200x2 for the sub. Memphis 6.5" separates, Memphis 12" sub, custom box, custom door skins. Wow...that's a lot more than it looks like in the car.
