shortlid
Thanks for the link! There are "FOUR" recalls on a '03 Legacy GT sedan that were not performed on my Mom's '03 Legacy GT sedan? Only one the Auto. Tranny Parking rod was performed? But when I call SOA or the stealership they say that there are no outstanding recalls for her VIN #?? But she does have some rust ALREADY on the subframe in the rear??
tunered
maybe you should print it off and take it to the dealer with you. ed
shortlid
I thought it was illegal for SOA or a stealership to say there was no outstanding recalls for your VIN when there are?
tunered
dont know the rules, maybe if its not something dangerous they dont have to? ed now that i think about it,they have to mail any recall notices to the registered owner, maybe they were inbetween owners at the time. ed
tunered
what i mean by the above post is that the notices were more than likely mailed to the previos owner but they had allready traded it in so it didnt matter. ed
shortlid
Yes the car was from Cherry Hill so a SOA exec. drove it for the first 17k then my Mom bought it from Bill Kolb in NJ.

johnceggleston
a carfax check should show any open recalls on the car. carfax checks w/ subaru to see if the recall work has been done. luck, john
Al_SemC
Very cool. Seems my car's all up to snuff (yay). Still might need a new battery, though. :-\
YellowSub
Is there a time limit to getting recalls done? Forester has a recall on brake master cylinder and I don't know if it was done.
Juan
The Web site makes no mention of the recall on my '98 Legacy L in which the rear differential seal(s) were replaced due to leaking on hot exhaust system. Juan
shortlid
You are right that was a recall done on our '98 Legacy L wagon before we sold it. Too bad the FRONTS did the same thing and were not covered!!
TheBrian
There was a recall done on my car's coil springs. The paint would flake off, and the springs would rust. Well, guess what? The revised paint has all flaked off, too.

rizzo
what i mean by the above post is that the notices were more than likely mailed to the previos owner but they had allready traded it in so it didnt matter. ed i also noticed on the recalls for my car that there is only a very limited number affected for some of them. so my guess is that the recall notice was only sent to those owners affected. cannonball
It appears that not all recalls are listed. On my 00 OBW Limited it doesn't even list the coolant conditioner. What's up with that?

What's up with that? i don't think that was an official recall... i think that was a service bulletin or something... although... i bought my car used and i signed up for the my.subaru.com site and it lists a recall job that was performed on my car before i bought it. that recall is not even listed on that recall site (it was for a bolt on the seat rail or something), yet it's listed as a recall on the my subaru site... blitz
I'm a bit concerned about the accuracy of the info. Impreza Outback & Outback Sport are listed as two different vehicles ...which wouldn't bother me if the recall info for each were at least identical. The coolant conditioner was an official recall. The first I learned about it was from mail from subaru. There is one more missing: 01 recall on O2 sensor. That site is not that great.
