simbey1982 Posted October 26, 2005 Share Posted October 26, 2005 Hey all...im missing a sensor on my new engine, and i need to know what it is Its a 2.5L SOHC model from a 2000 forester. Its all complete exept for this one sensor...here is a description It is a silver metal roundy block that sits kinda in front of the intake manifold, it has two medium sized vacuum tubes going to it and one electrical wire plugs into it....any ideas??? 99obw Posted October 27, 2005 Share Posted October 27, 2005 Sounds like the evap purge solenoid. EDIT: or EGR control solenoid if so equipped. Trace the vacuum lines, do they go to the backpressure transducer (flying saucer shaped thingy), or do they go to the metal fuel lines that run below the manifold. ferret Posted October 28, 2005 Share Posted October 28, 2005 Sounds like the air assist injector valve, if it is the same as the 01/02. It is controlled by the ECM to allow air to the injectors at low speed to atomize the fuel at a better rate.
