vintagejoe
There was a time when the squeal came from front brakes in forward and reverse. Mechanic said that there were some small stones causing this---sound went away for a while. Now, the sound is back when applying the brakes in reverse. it is really loud! Any idea what causes this?? idosubaru
try new pads. or new rotors. the pads may be shifting rearward in the caliper housing and contacting rusted portions of the rotor that are rarely touched when loaded in the *forward* position. just a wild guess. i would think new pads/rotors would solve the problem regardless. nipper
er um model engine tranny year mileage would help. How many miles on the pads. Pads can get junk and stuff in them, Also how long ago was it the mechnaic saw it last time. nipper
vintagejoe
The car has 125K and the pads haven't been replaced in ages. The car is an auto trans. Guess it's time to get the pads replaced. Many thanks VJ
