The Cheesemobile Lives!!!!

Recommended Posts

{(Disclaimer) The title was in no way ment to insult or offend any one from Wisconsin, moving to Wisconsin or in any way associated with Wisconsin!!}

I bought an "89" GL10 Wagon a couple weeks ago for scrap price. It has some cancer so it won't make a pretty car but only has 132K on the clock. It's a turbo FWD Auto model. Other than the cancer and no radio it's a nice looking car.

The man I bought it from said it ran when it was parked over two years ago and claimed to have put quite a bit of money into since he bought it. (Rebuilt tranny, head gaskets ect.) He's had it since "90" and it still had the Wisconsin plates on it when I bought it. So I have named it the CHEESEMOBILE, could be swiss at that.:grin:

The timeing belt on the drivers side was shot. Don't see how it could have run at all to get in that shape. Only about 10 good teeth left on the belt. Finnaly got aroud to doing the belts today (My first EA82) and it fired up first turn of the key!! Not bad I fugure as the timing case on disty side has a large chunk out of it where the timing mark was.

This job would not have been possible with out the knowledge I have learned from others on this message board. Thankx for all your help and support, Stumpy

Huzzah, the first time i did timing belts it was a disaster, but now i can do them with only a handful of tools and in about half an hour, with AC it may take an hour.

As far as offending people from Wisconson, they don't really matter do they? :drunk:

OK, so maybe next time I should check the lug nuts before deciding it needs axles!! Three out of four wheels were about to fall off!!

Also flowmaster tells me it is a rare car as it is a FWD Turbo touring wagon. Like I would know about that! Learn something new every day!

The picture just doesn't do the rust justice!

That looks like the file is internal to your computer, you need to post it to a web site, so it can be viewed over the internet. I believe you can put them in the USMB Photo Gallery, but I'm not sure how to since I have my own web site to post pictures on.
