BobBrumby Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 I found a small coolent leak where the coolent is fed up into the manifold just below front of carb for the hitachi's water choke. instead of replacing this hose (a bit orcward) could i just block it where it tee's off the heater hose hard line, as i no longer need coolent there with my webber. TomRhere Posted November 9, 2005 Share Posted November 9, 2005 That small tube that the hose connects to on the manifold, goes into a passage to the coolant jacket. If you removed the carb, you'd see a 12-13mm square hole, and the end of that tube. You would have to block both ends of where the hose attaches, so you might as well replace hose. If you installed a Weber, you should have blocked off the water passage to the Hitachi carb. You would know really quickly if you didn't.
