edrach
Found this on the ezboard for ORG comments: Yes the awards banquet is comming for Rallycross Awards on the 19th with the rest of the SCCA group. It should be a great night. Of course none of us Rallycrossers know if or how we placed so it may be a little bit of a void in the "presentation'' when our names are called and none of us knew or knew in advance enough to make plans and get the RSVP tickets for the "Gala" event. Oh well, perhaps the awards were never ordered like the last and only banquet I went to in 2002 so it doesn't matter any way.I would like to have gone to just enjoy the evening with friends and other drivers that do care but since WE are not stepping up to run things, it may be best to just let it die....... I haven't seen anything else on the "official" website as yet.
edrach
Finally, confirmation: Yes, the awards will be held at Gran Prix Imports in Wilsonville on the 19th of November in conjunction with the SCCA Region Awards. We are working on posting points right now, please be patient. John Elkin Vancouver Washington 03 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition

If you are thinking about coming to the banquet (and I would encourage you to, if for no other reason than to check out the cool cars and hear from great music and meet some world-class club-level racers), I would at least email Jeff Z. and let him know that your reservation is on the way... try this email address for Jeff: re <at> oregonscca <dot> com He can add your name (and numbers to the list) and you can send your check in the mail! Come help us honor the champions from all of the venues who hail from the Oregon Region SCCA! TTFN! edrach
Uhmm, yeah! I have to give at least two weeks notice to get a vacation day. Sorry, I was trying to be sarcastic; next time I'll tag it with the proper emoticon.
Qman
Don't worry Ed, I noted your sarcasm. That was just one reason I will not be attending.
eurowrx
Sorry to say I did attend... I was one of two there for awards. We were ushered into a small upstairs room away from the other awards (SCCA) and other drivers. My feeling was we are the "Bastard children "of the SCCA.They did however have awards this year-procured at the very last minute since Scott never ordered them. The good news was Hillsboro will happen again next year as the new building fell thru again. Also the good news is Scott is out and April is in as Rallycross Director. By the way, my car is sold and I am out also. Sianara! John

edrach
John, I'm glad to hear you sold your car, but sorry that we won't see you at future events. You are correct about SCCA; I've always felt that the rally group (and the rallycross group by extension) were the step children of SCCA. This feeling goes back to my early days of rallying in the 70's and 80's. I pretty much quick "cold turkey" in 1988 when we moved west. I didn't really get back into it until I met the Subaru crowd, attended WCSS3 and ran my first rallycross there. Be well and with luck Jeanne and I will visit Hood River again next summer. ---ed--- Sorry to say I did attend... I was one of two there for awards.
