gen1lover
Has anybody had to replace the ignition switch on a Legacy? It looks like the head on the screws breaks off when installed at the factory. There does not appear to be enough room to drill them out. If anyone knows the procedure to remove the switch from the column it would really help a lot. Thanks!
nipper
I havent done it in a Sooby, i have done it in a honda. All you have to do is chisel/grind/drill the head off. You can use a small chisel or strong screwdriver to unscrew the screws. Its a very soft material. nipper
Cougar
I'm not sure why you want to change the switch out but if you are because of electrical problems and haven't firsted checked the connector in the steering column then I would suggest you check that. Others have had problems with the main power connections there. Has anybody had to replace the ignition switch on a Legacy? gen1lover
The switch is hanging up even with the lock cyl removed so I was going to use the one out of a parts car I have. No electrical issues.
