intercooling an xt

Recommended Posts

i have an intercooler off a 92 talon tsi that i am tryin to make work on my xt, i need to figure out the routing for the pipes, i can't decide on top-mount of front mount, front would be easier i think, but then the routing of the tubes comes into play again, if anyone has pics of past installs that they could send off to me for more help would be great.

i have some of the tubing, and the bov already mounted on a peice of angle pipe(pics to follow).

also would like assistance in an alternator ugrade as for which type of alternator will work, i think i remember reading that someone put a GM 120A alternator on theirs, and if they did, what part number was it for future reference.

If you use the search feature for the retrofitting forum you will find several IC setups most TM but some FM, gravelrx has a sweet front mount. FM take alot of work to make the hose routing flow well. Raven TBK I think wrote up and linked parts #'s for the alt. swap which is in the retro forum too.

I don't have time to search and post the links for you, kids clawing at me right now.

If you would like, I can look for a Skyline side mount intercooler for you. They are alot thicker than the Talon ICs and has a larger surface, not to mention it would most likely be easier to run pipes to(Top mount style) than the Talon IC. These can be had for around $30 here. Let me know if you're interested.
