November 17, 200520 yr OK, I've posted on this problem the other day thinking they might be reverse threads. But got a reply saying they are Lefty= loosey. Passenger side Camshaft sprocket bolts: I made a tool out of a 2 3/8" socket and 2' angle iron, that didn't work.Just stripped the sprocket. So I pulled the valve cover and got a 1" crowfoot on the Hex part of the Cam and locked it against the frame. Using a 18" 1/2" drive breaker bar and tried to break the torque.... Nothing!! :banghead: Next I put the air rachet pushing 120 psi to it. Nothing!!!! :banghead: All have done is chip the paint and primer off the frame where the rachet was locked. Any Ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
November 17, 200520 yr Plastic/carbon? or do you mean nylon? OK get some nut buster/liquid wrench and soak it really good and for a few hours. Then repeat and repeat. Hopefully its just frozen and not cross threaded. nipper
November 18, 200520 yr You said you used a air rachet, get you a real impact tool and use it, the one Wal Mart sells for around 78.00 dollars with the 1/2 in. drive should do it. You could probably rent one like it somewhere.
