My question: Fuel pump for 1981 4WD Wagon 1) Where is it? Under the car near the rear tire or under the hood? 2) How many filters/vapor separators does it have and where are they? GLCraig Posted December 2, 2005 Share Posted December 2, 2005 On an 81 the fuel pump and filter should be in the engine compartment near the left strut tower; unless the fuel pump relocation kit was installed. TheSubaruJunkie Posted December 2, 2005 Share Posted December 2, 2005 Drivers side, under the car, near the fuel tank. You should find a filter there and along with another filter under the hood.
