wyosub
I need to remove the cylinder block plug to install a block heater, anyone know what size hex wrench it takes? a lot bigger than anything in my metric box so I need to purchase or borrow the right size. Legacy777
It's 14mm. If you have an autozone, that's the only place I found that had allen sockets large enough. It came in a package of 3, 12, 14, and one larger one.
forester2002s
14mm? That's not very big. You should be able to get that at Sears. EDIT: Whoops, I misread the OP. I thought that we were talking about a 14mm socket (which isn't that big). However a 14mm Allen Key is kinda large!

TIA The only place I've found one of those separate from a set is online. There are usually a number of them on eBay. I think they're a common size for Mercedes-Benz oil drain plugs and other import plugs.
Legacy777
Autozone baby.....you get three sizes....for like 10 bucks. You can't beat that.....and I tried sears, home depot, lowes, etc. None of them had anything.
