Confused on Clutch Sizes (ea81) Help!

I need a clutch for my 1984 4wd ea81 wagon. The retail stores want over $200 for a clutch kit, which is way to much. I have been looking at ebay, but I'm a little confused on what size I need. I want to double check my facts... I need a 8 7/8 (225mm) disc and ea81 after 1983 and all ea82 clutches are the same. Is that right? I don’t want to buy the wrong one.

 

Anyone have a good source for buying clutches at a good price?

I got an Exedy clutch kit from ClutchCityOnline.com looks like your car would be $185.. same as my old 84. in 83 they went to a bigger clutch diameter.

There are 3 types of clutches.

 

The small 2WD EA81 type... also found on 82 brats I know for sure (cause mine had one)

 

There is the larger 83+ 4WD clutch for EA81's that you have.

 

There is the EA82 clutch which should be the same from 85-94 I believe.

 

Perault makes a good clutch... I have em in all my cars.

Also, try napa, they have new and re frurb. clutches for good prices.

I have a bunch of ea 81 clutches I will never use if you want me to check sizes I have laying around .They are used and came off engines I got for airplanes .Dont know offhand what I have .
