smkn 951 Posted October 4, 2003 Share Posted October 4, 2003 hello everyone, i'm new here. i have a 1993 subaru impreza 4dr. right now the car has all these ailments, won't start, no headlights, windows won't roll down. things ive done and checked. 1. battery teste good with a load tester, voltage is at 13+-1 2. starter is getting voltage to the two big nuts. 3. checked all fuses to include inside and outside boxes (2 total boxes) all good visual and multimeter 4. checked continuity on three relays located inside above fuse box all good iaw the diagram 5. rebuilt starter, might have carbon build up but everything is clean 6. all fluid levels are good. please help, this car is an overall great car, it's been very realible on long trips, and i have no intension of getting rid of it. no mods, just plain stock. as soon as i paid for the 944t i'll be modding this one tia :banghead: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

NoahDL88 Posted October 4, 2003 Share Posted October 4, 2003 You may have more luck with the new generation forum because they know more about the new fangled impreza's up there, My best guess would be the ignition switch, there may be somthing internal that is cutting out when you turn the key, try the parking lights, those are independent of the ignition source, if those still work i would go from there. Cougar Posted October 4, 2003 Share Posted October 4, 2003 It sounds like you have a bad power connection somewhere possibly near the battery area. First thing you should do is remove and clean the battery connections, even if they look ok. If that doesn't fix the problem then look for a connection problem on the smaller positive wire that feeds the cars fuse panel and check the fuselinks.
