TheSubaruJunkie
Anyone know off the top of their head what the thread pitch for the water temp sending unit on our EA82's are? Im going to be replacing the gauges with new, mechanical gauges and Napa lists like 4 different units. Im not sure which one i need. -Brian
fredrogers
Well I recently put in a new mechanical temp sensor on my 87 gl wagon and the adaptor nut that goes into the block says: M16x1.5. Hope that helps! -=fred=-

Hondasucks
I'm not 100% sure on this but those sending units SHOULD be pipe thread, the question is whether they are BPT or NPT (The fitting for the oil pressure gauge on my Datsun wsa 1/8 BPT which was almost but not quite 1/8 NPT..) TheSubaruJunkie
The Napa listing for the parts im getting were NPT. Are subies NPT? -Brian
MilesFox
the napa and other generic temps gauges(mechanical) the threads will fit, you will have to use one of the fittings that come with it to secure the thermocouble to the diameter of the soob. keep any leftover pieces from gauge installs as they can be used like legos to adapt oil gauges, vice versa
