88xt6joe
My cruise control just stopped working. When you push the botton on the dash the light comes on but when you try to set it at speed nothing. Its a 88 gl wagon with 1.8, auto and 177,000 miles. Any ideas on what went wrong. Thanks in advance, Joe
Flowmastered87GL
I believe that the cruise control is vacuum actuated... so maybe the vacuum hose broke or came off??

darthsoob
I had the same thing happen to my brat. Only thing is I can't find where the hose should go. I don't suppose you could describe the location for both ends? 87 brat with a hitachi carb. By the way, someone told me I have an "aftermarket" cruise on mine. It has the green button on the lower part of the dash and the speed "set" on the steering column.
clantieri
I have the same setup, darth. I think that is "dealer installed" ac. Mine is not currently functioning either.... Chris
darthsoob
There appears to be a plague. Maybe we should get hold of the CDC in Atlanta.....
Skip
The CC units all have a brake pedal activated switch to disable the CC when the brakes are applied. I have noticed this switch set very close to being ON all the time. Thus rendering the CC inoperative. Please check it's operation and the gap between it and the pedal. hope this helps
