shorepig
So I finally found out why my check engine light was on...code 35...canister purge control valve.....now I need to know what this does. I've been told it is not very important, and it just controls emissions....therefore I don't need to worry about it right away. I'm putting 600 miles on the car this weekend...going skiing into the mountains...and dont want to brake down. Whatayathink? Is it safe to drive, or should I take my westfalia? Subarian
The purge control valve purges the fuel vapors from the carbon canister. It shouldn't hurt you to drive it that far.
somick
A dealer wanted $95 for it. I bought it a junk yard for $4.99. It is very easy to change it: one srew and one connector. I am not sure but I belive you may fail the emisions test if you keep driving. Sam
