chevylefty
I'm having trouble with my 1996 Subaru Legacy, 2.2 engine, with 200,000 miles. There is a leak coming from the right side of the water pump. When the engine is running it becomes a steady drip. I have tried everything I can think of - I've installed a factory gasket, I've made my own gasket and put sealent on it. I don't see any cracks on the block or the pump. The pump has been on the car for 4000 miles. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. Also, we are planning on buying a new Subaru Forester next month. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks in advance. Suzam
You may have a bad pump, a replacement might cure the leak. Are you keeping this car when you get the Forester?
nipper
i agree. the pump is bad, they dont last forever. Also while your there replace your timing belts (unless they been done recently) nipper
chevylefty
Thank-you Suzam and Nipper for the information.......I will be buying the new pump. As of yet were not sure as of yet if we will be keeping the car. When it runs it runs great!
