Has anyone tried to replace a bumper on a newer legacy? I have a 2003 with a dent in the front bumper and I want to fix it myself and save some $$ if possible, but not if its gonna take a lot of time or special tools (I'm kinda of a beginner at this car repair stuff).

How bad is the dent, and how good do you want it to look?

I had someone back into my front bumper and push the corner of the it in about 3" with a dent about 12" wide.

I decided to be a nice guy and not turn it in to the guys insurance.

I used a heat gun, an inner-tube and a compressor. I attached a hose to the innertube and shoved it up between the bumper-cover and the body. Used the heat gun on the outside of the cover and started inflating the inner-tube.

If you look in the right spot and at the right angle you can still tell that something happened, but it's good enought for me.

Ouch, yeah a little more than mine.

I can't imagine that it would take more than a screwdriver to remove the cover. You may have to take off the front wheels to remove the inner fender liners???

If you have airbags it may be a good idea to disconnect the battery before you start digging in. I don't know where the sensors are, or what it takes to set them off, but you don't want to find out.

If you can find the right style and color at a bone yard you can probably get it replaced for $40 and a weekend.
