idosubaru
seen an XT6 owner do this. tried reusing the cam carrier o-ring (the bottom corner one) with excessive sealant. it sucked up the sealant and caused same issues. anaerobic sealant all the way, this wouldn't have happened. i also took apart an ER27 tha ti picked up from someone and they installed a regular oring instead of the metal ring reinforced oring, glad i caught that ahead of time! Qman
How'd the cam look? People need to realize that some is good and more is bad!
Tycho
Cam journals, lobes, the rocker pads, and the lifters themselves all looked fine. Low spring pressures + wide lobes / large journals was the saving grace there I'd say. These engines really are over engineered in many ways. As a note...there was no sealant sucked up. That's ALL o ring.
