doogymon
Greetings Subies I am yanking the 2.5L out of my 97 O/B and inserting a 95 2.2L from a legacy. Will the following parts from the 2.5 work on the 2.2: Starter motor Coil pack Alternator Timing Belt Covers Also, anybody have a good source for quality Sub parts up here in the frozen North (Canada). Ordering from the States can be a drag with brokerage fees coming across the border. I need a timing belt/seals kit. Thanks Doogymon
Legacy777
Are both motors coming out of the same type of transmission based car? The starter depends mainly on the transmission, not the engine. Coil pack & alternator I don't see why they wouldn't fit. The timing belt....probably not....is the 2.5 DOHC?
doogymon
Don't know the origin of the doaner 2.2L. The car receiving the transplant is a 97 O/B Auto and had the 2.5L. Cheers & Thanks for your help thus far. Are both motors coming out of the same type of transmission based car? The starter depends mainly on the transmission, not the engine. ballitch
since your 2.5 had DOHC, and the 2.2 isnt DOHC, no, your timing belt covers wont fit, neither will the timing belt. all the accessories will swpa over just fine, i think even the brackets are the same. ~Josh~
