Pumba
Is there any lowering springs for the rx or springs from an other car that may fit:confused:
TROGDOR!
Use the front struts from a 2WD 85-91 XT 4cyl, with your RX springs on them. It will bring the front down about 1.5 inches, and the fender lip will be just above the edge of the tire. The bottom of the strut itself is shorter, and by doing this you actually won't lose any suspension travel. Keeping the RX springs will allow you to keep your firm handling, as the XT springs are very soft. Using the XT springs will also drop the car low enough to scrape the tires on hard turns; using the RX springs on the XT struts will bring it up just enough for the tires to clear, and it'll still look nice and low. For the rears, you can use the rear springs from the same XT, mounted on your original RX struts. This will drop it to match the front, but the rear will be squishy as hell- expect it to bottom out when you hit a big bump, and ride on the bump stops when you have people in the backseat. I'm planning to cut a coil off an RX rear spring when I work on my project next and see where that puts me, but be warned, that's half-assing the job as well. The only QUALITY way to do the rear is to order custom-made springs online- they're not all that expensive, anyone got the link? Here's what an RX looks like with 14" Peugeot wheels and 2WD XT front struts with RX springs, and RX rear struts with 2WD XT springs. Like I mentioned, the ride on the rear end is total crap, and I really recommend doing the rears differently.

Numbchux
won't FWD rear struts work??
TROGDOR!
The FWD rear struts are actually longer than the 4WD ones. Don't ask me how that works, somehow it does- but they're quite a bit longer.
NoahDL88
I'd advise against cutting your springs, they become weaker and stiffer, both are characteristics that you don't want in a spring, much stiffer not "good" stiffer. If you ever want to see the effect of a cut spring job, look at a honda civic that is just above the ground, if they've cut both ends those things bounce more than an old buckboard wagon. Caboobaroo
or you remove them like me! Thats how I lowered my '78 Brat but for some reason, it lit the rear tires up posi. Oh yeah, it was also RWD too;)
subaru_styles
people, people:-\ ..the rear is easy part ..you can use standard 2 1/2" or 2 5/8" id coilover springs in the rear.you can order them in different lengths and with a ton of different lb ratings. 85Sub4WD
I thought you could use the front springs from the stut assembly off a specific late -80's honda to get stiffer rear springs???
calebz
Adjustable coilovers .. (though I would recommend going with a little lower spring rate than I did)

I think if the right rate combo was found, they would work fine as a daily driver. Mine are a bit stiff to be called 'comfortable'.. 350 rear 450 front
