Will i have to replace the whole speedometer unit and have the miles matched to a new or used one or can I just replace the part in question. nipper Posted January 23, 2006 Share Posted January 23, 2006 i had one of these apart. You just have to replace the head unit, not the entire cluster. Usually i wouldn't care but i use these meter's to figure out gas mileage. I can get a new speedo unit used for 50 bucks. But i don't want to have to pay someone to match the mileage on the odometer.
