Andyjo
why on earth would you want a 12" wheel!?!?!?
Turbone
10in and 12in are ATV wheels. Not quite recommended for offroading. Sweet82 has experience with them I believe.
Flowmastered87GL
I dunno if they would clear the front brakes :-\
mikie
You have to make / redrill them. There is a 12" rim in 4x130, its on the back of a japanese mazda bongo/ford econovan light commercial van that was fitted with dual rear tyres. Approx 1984-1990. The rims are 12"x4" wide and quite offset of course, being dual wheel. If you widen them by 4" you get a 12"x8" rim thats very sturdy and stops just shy of the caliper on subie. This is them widened: http://webhost1.inspire.net.nz/~nyloc/Toybaru/pages/Drivers%20side.htm
monstaru
they do make a couple that will bolt right up,pretty tight.but you would be hard pressed to find clearance.
Sweet82
A 12" rim will fit and clear all the brakes and steering components. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4967&sort=1&cat=500&page=3 The question is what are you going to do with a 12" rim? If you mount a middle of the road tire "26 inch", you'll need a lift to clear them--depending on the width? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7438&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7435&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=2 A smaller tire would fit a bit easier. Your stock tire should measure about 22.5" A 26" tire measures out to about 25.5 Tell us what you have in mind? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester OY MY!! now this has got me thinking...I take my gl wagon to Baja for a few weeks each winter to chase surf and have to go to the well known spots with reasonable access and sometimes crowds BUT with a extra set of wheels/tires I turn the wagon into a "sand no trouble atv" and go to another spot with a friend or 2 that doesn't have the great access!!! yeah baby!! Scott in Bellingham
heres a set I rigged up they are 12" rims outer from a lawn tractor , with stock car rim centers heres the tire I got 23x10.50-12 Ag Lug they really go I wouldnt hesitate putting a fell set on a subaru, we took this machine to the sand dunes , goes great , is lacking on steep hills as its only front wheel drive the lawn tractor rim is lacking as it has no bead lock ridge so you cant air down much ,
Mr Fishums
Damn, that's once nice Justy! It reminds me of my first hatchback Lets see some pics of that thing in action! Feild cars are the greatest cars ever!
Numbchux
but SJR....those aren't 4X140, justies used 4x110 or something like that, much smaller
zed wolf
well, my thoughts were about getting some atv tyres for trail use only. they are easily found in up to 28" fairly cheap and have some wicked tread patterns.

zed wolf
Even with lots of air? Anyway, aired down is good too, I run about 5 psi in my jeep with 33" ssr's
Caboobaroo
yes, even with lots of air, the most you'd do is blow out a sidewall, or a bead, or blow the valvestem out. Too much pressure plus a tire thats not supposed to take that much plus the addition of the weight which is going to be over the load capacity of the tire equals lots of BOOOOOM!!!! Numbchux
And they make atv wheels with a 4x135 (or something like that, it's close) lug pattern, but they're not even as strong as the wheels on your donut spares. Sweet82 runs avt tires on custom wheels, but his buggy weighs a fraction of a full subie. It looks like he put those wheels on his wagon, but probalby just for test fittin, and pics. Mr Fishums
Oh common it's worth a try. Those damn polaris 4x4 four wheelers with automatic trannies can't way that much less than a justy. Hahhaha those things are mammoth!
Zefy
some justy's came with 12" rims anyway... you might be able to pull it off with some serious weight reduction... i unno... anybody wanna put them and their justy on the line?:-p
Mr Fishums
Common a justy's curb weight practically doubles when you get into it :-p
burtonsnowman
Dang, I just got rid of a Justy with 12"ers! It even had four spares! I thought to myself, "Now why would anyone want eight 12" rims?" Now I'm mad at myself.
Sweet82
Besure you use a 6 ply tire!!! I wouldn't trust anything less. Plys are everything when your abusing the maximum ratings. They make 28's but,... your loosing a lot of your gearing by going that big...?
Jibs
Well what could you do to a soob to make it lighter? You'd have to tube everything out, which wouldn't be too bad. Get rid of all that excess weight, use some atv wheels and tires and tell us how it goes, get some pics too.
zed wolf
well, so far it is just idle thinking. I need to lift one of my subs first but if I do then mabey.....
Sweet82
You must lift first! The tires won't fit if it's not lifted. In the pics with Mad Max on the 26" Atv tires... The tires were rubbing...
