rjp
I'm in the process of acquiring an '88 Justy RS. It's got a bad transmission, so it needs to be towed. If I dolly the front wheels and take it out of 4WD mode, will it be okay for the tow for about 30 miles? Also, does anyone have a link to a site that has every bit of information I'd want to know about this car? Even searching here, I'm having a hard time finding just... general information. 75subie
you might be better of taking the 5-10 mins and dropping the rear drive shaft for a justy, i know ea81`s are alright on dollys, but a justy may not be.
85Sub4WD
What type of tranny is it? if it is an automatic, replace it with a 5-speed because the CVT automatics used in them are extremely trouble-prone. manual transmission part time 4WD cars *should* be OK to tow as long as they aren't in 4WD, but it would be a good idea to be safe and drop the driveshaft
GeneralDisorder
If it's a 5 speed, you can flat tow it in 2WD just fine. Had a neighbor that pulled one behind his 5th wheel for many years. They are just 4WD, not AWD.
rjp
This is excellent news. It's a 5spd. I'm going to be replacing it with a five speed, as well. Might be posting around here looking for info/parts, although I *think* might have found a replacement for just $50. Could have been a misprint, because all the other trannies were about $500.
