hogweed
thanks. i heard that there was a coolant additive to help w/ head gasket issues. can this be used as a preventative measure or only when a leak develops? gregg

nipper
Its from subaru. Its an official Subaru product used to (hopefully) prevent/stop external head gasket leaks. Its like chicken soup, it can't hurt, but 2.2s are fairly bullit proof as long as they are maintaned. nipper
Chef
Should be no need with a 2.2. Given the age of the vehicle, you wouldn't want to clog any gummed up passages in the rad or heat core (not sure if this "conditioner" acts like a stop leak or not). I'd just get some fresh coolant in there and be happy with that.
