dreedraffs
I was installing a new deck in my beater and the stupid thing is not deep enough to accept the Denon H/U I wanted to put in. So I'd like to know who changed theirs radios in a EA82 (I have a '92 Loyale) and what they put in so I can get an idea with will fit. But still I'm pretty sad... I wanted to know if this 2x18bits CDA CD player would sound better than my previou sCD45z Nak. Well... I'll have to wait to listen to it I guess... dreedraffs
I was looking at the sounddomain site to get ideas. This make me wanna clarify a detail... I want to keep the H/U ''inside'' the dash, I don't want to put a sleeve on the plastic trim and put the H/U in the sleeve. I want the h/u to be where it belongs. Hodaka Rider
You got three choices: 1) Use the adaptors the aftermarket has (or make your own) 2) Remove your heating sytem (the heater core is what sits behind the radio) 3) Put you head unit under your seat, in the glovebox, or somewhere else. dreedraffs
There should be a radio somewhere that is not too deep to get in there...
Hodaka Rider
Yep, I've got one. 1994 Loyale stock AM/FM with cassette.
Holmes
I like the adaptor that I got from Crutchfield because it tapers in on the sides. Not as obtrusive looking as the Metro kit that most people use. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-sMot5lRapfx/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=003SBK930 There should be a radio somewhere that is not too deep to get in there... Why do you think the stock radio is shallow and double-stacked? Because a normal stereo would never fit.
fangster
I used a spacer - this one was custom made... I have a new Pioneer unit in there now - works well!
Bucky92
I have about the same adapter for my 92 Loyale for my JVC..they are cheap and screw right in and they dont look bad either.
Subarian
I have a Pioneer Supertuner with CD in a generic adaptor. It fits well and looks decent. No problem with rattling or shaking.
TROGDOR!
That Crutchfield unit will also accept a normal type stereo, I believe the section for the knobs is removable. I had one of those once as well, looked pretty slick. The Metra one isn't so bad either, it's what I have now. Most people don't even realize it isn't factory. There is no perfect way to do this- either use an adapter, let the radio hang out an inch, remove your heater, or mount it somewhere else- that's it.
