can any 1 help me.i have a 93 wrx.when it gets to 5000rpm it shuts down for a seckond then go's.also when its not stalling it splutters a lot.any advice please

Is your check engine light on? You may want to try pulling the codes to see if anything is stored in the computer. I have the procedure for pulling the codes on the legacy, but they should be the same for your 93

Also, can you describe the problem better. Does it happen all the time, does it only happen when the engine is warm, etc.

93 was the first year for the WRX and there were many teething problems, this could be one of them. It almost sounds like a turbo stall, the fix would be to get a turbo off a 95 or 96 WRX. I'm surprised that you would have a 93 in Ireland, I was under the impression the Europe didn't get WRXs until 94, what is the build date on the data plaque, if 9/93 or later you really have a 94.
