erikvr
How difficult is it to replace a tape deck or CD player? I would like to swap the tape deck in one EA82 with the CD player in another. The CD player has a pre-out. The tape deck does not. Both have those plastic after market covers surrounding the deck face. Is it a few easy wires? Thanks. Legacy777
Are you swapping stuff from an old gen car into another old gen car? It sounds like it, so I'm going to move this post to the old gen side.
Subarian
It sounds like both are aftermarket systems, so it really depends on the wiring job done by whoever installed them. With luck you might find they use the same harness.
critical_max
The connections for a tape deck and CD deck should be similar if they are both aftermarket. Metra makes the dash adapters, you might find that both stereo installations had used the Metra wiring kit as well, in which case your task is simple. Be sure not to blow fuses.
