Power Mirror Conversion....How....COMPLETE!!

Recommended Posts

Not hard if you know how to wire it. You need the window track, motor and switches from the donar car. If your car is EA81, the window control box module is located under the drivers seat. You may need that as well.

My donar car has power windows, it's an ea81 wagon and mine is a ea81 hatchback...was going to convert my windows to electric too but can't use the donar motors...too weak. guess I need to take a look in the doors but why do I need the window track and motor??

you would obviously need all the wiring and control switches for the mirrors and of course the power mirrors...hardest part about the whole project would be running the wiring into the doors - a pain in the keister, but can be done with patience and time.

before going to all the trouble of pulling the wiring, make sure the "new" power mirrors will fit easily in place of your old manually operated ones - if things dont line up right, would throw a big monkey wrench into your conversion project.

good luck, and update us when complete. :)

I have been thinking of doing power mirror conversion as well.Main reason is for my wife cause she is short and I am tall. That way it would be easier for her to drive the hatch without dealing with the mirrors too much.

Let me know if you get this done before I do.I am planning on looking into a donor sube with power mirrors in the next month.:burnout:

I strung new wire from dash to doors for new speakers so I know what a pain in the arse it is. Everything seems like it's going to line up right.

Power mirrors should be pretty easy.

I gotta say even that is an under statement

I'm finished with the Power Mirror Conversion.....And it's my opinion that anyone can do it in just a few hours time at most. It's plug-n-play all the wiring under the dash is already there just need the wire in the door and plug it in, thread it thru the door, hook it up to the mirror. I wish I had done it before but I kinda let the thought of the wiring intimidate me into putting it off.
