desperate
I've got a 91 Loyale FwD 5spd. I'm sure you all know these things are severly underpowerd. My options, sell the car and try to find something better, or the one i like more, put a EJ22T into my engine bay. Been done? Difficulty? especially in wiring department. I'd like to keep the car on 13's, convert it to AWD. easier to buy a donor car or just buy motor trans and wiring? thanks Anthony
NoahDL88
Its been done, but i'd caution you that the stock brakes are woefully inadequate for stopping an EJ22T, with that much power i'd really suggest upgrading your brakes.
desperate
I had already thoguht about the brakes, think I'm goin to take a set of stock rotors to a machine shop and have them cross drilled and slotted. How much bigger are WRX cailpers form a loyale?
suberdave
How much bigger are WRX cailpers form a loyale? to run WRX front susp. you will have to go to a 5 lug, for the knuckle to take the calipers. and you will have to go to a 16" poss 15" wheel. i tryed 14" wheels on my WRX converson on my GL wagon, didnt work. so i went with 17's -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
NoahDL88
To run WRX calipers you will need 16 inch wheels, although you should be able to run the Legacy knuckles/brakes/struts with the XT-6 lower control arm. In the rear you're gonna need all XT-6 parts though, just the hub/brake rotor, backing plate and caliper if you're not already disc back there. desperate
I think my loyale would weird with 16's or 17's on it. I think for the 3500 bux I'd put into the swap I'll just save it, and buy a used STi come this time next year.

You would gain AWD, the car would be a stock configuration and worth more $, etc.

I am thinking of picking up a 3door to swap my stuff into.
