rugbyben
I am (have been for a long time) getting a clanking sound when i put on the breaks to stop. Usually it is after fairly hard acceleration. The sound is definitely coming form the front, and seems like it might be something to do with the breaks. The car still stops fine and the antilock works as it is supposed to (They suck! ). Anyway Do the disk breaks in front shift or something? The sound is similar to the 1980s VW Golfs, when they go over bumps the front breaks rattled. Its that type of sound only it is a singular clank and only when stopping. (might be from both sides...cant tell) The vehicle is a 2000 Imprezza outback-sport. 2.2L NA Manual
Olnick
Could it be the front sway bar/bushings?
