what is this carb

Recommended Posts

Just as a matter of general interest to a lot of people on this board who are looking for weber carbs. The 32/36 are getting rare in US .However these are still in common use on lots of european cars used exclusively in Europe.Go into Ebay ,scroll down to Ebay U. K .and there are usually webers of all descriptions.Remember ,parts off UK cars are likely to be way better maintained than U S cars as standards are a lot tougher.(Any perforation through the sheet metal within one foot of a structural part puts your car off the road).Only down side is that mailing costs to the Us are a killer.

Jude

Ok, lack of sleep has made me err. The DGEC is further up the page but is a 34. So maybe what you have is a Solex:confused: Which if it is, I would toss out IMHO. I had one one my Opel Wagon, it was a pyle. I replaced it with a Weber.

Looks like an updated DGEV to me http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8033438385&indexURL=0#ebayphotohosting

I wouldn`t dismiss all Solexes on the basis of a worn out 30 year old emissions carb. The 2bbl downdraft solexes are a higher quality carb than the weber dgv series(more tunable).Try changing venturies on a DGV!
