crpete
About 5000 miles after having the head gaskets replaced due to a blown HG on my 99 OB, the check engine light started coming on; the error code indicated a misfire on cylinder 3. I took car to local dealer who replaced that spark plug and wire with no improvement. Finally took car to local Subaru shop with about 25 years experience on Subarus only. He had a 2000 OB in the shop with the same problem and told me that SoA had informed him it was a known problem with sticking valves (can't remember if it was intake or exhaust). He also told me the car needs a valve job. Three questions: Will it damage the car to keep driving it with this problem? Is there any other way to fix the problem? How much does a valve job cost typically?
