jamal
"doe's?" iirc earlier 2.2s had HLAs and then sometime between 95 and 97 they went to the solid ones.

junkyardgabe
what my problem is when i start it on cold morning it's ticking pretty loud until it warms up and then its practicly none existant until the next morning it hasn't got any worse in a year (15,000 miles) i took it to the dealer and they said it it was either a rod bearing or main but why would these quiet after warming i would think they would get loud once the oil thinned out any clues anyone:confused:

I've also read that the spacing could be a little bit off, causing the noise... and yes, it is a very annoying noise isn't it? it's louder than my exhaust!! (even w/ cracked headers )
