habib99
Hi all, anyone tell me what thread the temp gauge sensor is - assuming the sensor poking through the bottom of the thermostat housing is the gauge sender (not the coolant temp sensor for ECU). thanks forgot to mention -EA82T
Subaru Jim Maple Ridge
Presuming that you are asking for the location of the temperature sensing unit, it is at the back of the intake just in front of the knock sensor. The unit at the thermostat is just the sending unit for the dash guage.

Anyone have a pic???
habib99
Thanks -Got it worked out now the dash gauge is deffo on the Tstat housing and the coolant temp sensor (for the ECU) further back where 'Subaru Jim Maple Ridge' said. What I really wanted to know was what thread the dash gauge is -but dont really need to know anymore, cause I know Its way bigger than M10 (I was going to replace it with a VDO unit) anyway, havnt got a pic of the dash sender but if you face the engine -look at the Tstat housing on the right face right at the bottom, poking out to the right (its in the bottom half not the top half that comes off when you unbolt). Single wire. 17mm nut-sensor.
