msmithmmx
About 3 weeks ago I swapped my blown 2.5 for a 2.2. The car worked like a champ, put about 30 miles on it. Now my outback has a mind of its own. The car will arm itself and not allow me to turn it on all the while sounding off the alarm.. Both of my key fobs are not working. I know my neighbor car interferes with the alarm system (factory) I pulled the car battery yesterday an I am letting it sit for a few days. Not sure what happened it worked for 2 weeks with no issues and now my key fobs are dead ( I changed the battery on them. Does anyone know how to re program the key fobs? ballitch
i dont think this is swap related, unless you messed with the alarm system while you swapped motors......try going to the dealer to get them fixed, if they try to charge you an arm and a leg, try ebay for some used ones. ~Josh~
offroadsubaruguy
you could always just dissengage it, and leave it....... just a thought....
msmithmmx
Fixed it, I have taken my Outback back 1) Unplugged the car battery 2) Put the Key in and turned it on 3) Plugged the car battery back in 4) The car now disarmed itself 5) The remotes were still dead 6) Reprogrammed one of the remotes, they other was dead 7) Finished.
