FlyB0y
I have decided that I'm gonna put the jump seats back in my brat, and that means removing my tool boxes, and I wana do that so I can take more than just one passenger, like my Dad AND my Nephew, but I will still need to have some extra storage other than just behind the seat ... I wana get all the input I can, I am throwing around ideas like a "pipe rack" type frame in the back partly made with the high roll-bar, and maybe have some kind of cage-like boxes just inside that or on top ... some day I wana make a retractable canvas topper, so this rack has to be made so that it doesn't get in the way of my passenger's heads, yet isnt' going to get int the way of having the canvas topper ... just looking for brain-storm material ... any and all ideas welcome

mbrickell
Yakima crossbars on top, with a old style Yak basketcase sideways across. Lots of stuff would fit. Maybe even trim the basket however wide you want it, or leave as is.

I mounted it in the bed but about a 1 1\2 forward of the tail gate and six inches off the floor of the bed so the top of the box is only slightly higher than the trim, this leaves plenty of room for cargo and the tool box for storage also makes a really nice bench when you open the tailgate. Hmmm not a bad idea ... I might have to mod my rear bumper to allow the re-install of the tailgate after all
