ausmhow
Was wondering if anybody could tell me the torque specs for the head bolts on an ea82. My crappy chilton's manual lists them for the ohv 1.8, but not the ohc. Thanks!
idosubaru
the ohv 1.8, but not the ohc. Thanks! i think there's only one kind of EA82, that i know of so it's either a poor description or a typo or it doesn't matter. i just did this a couple weeks ago and found the spec's on this board if you want to search for them, don't know off the top of my head. ausmhow
I guess it was a poor desctiption- my book lists them for the EA81 ohv 1.8, not the EA82 ohc 1.8. thanks though.

TheSubaruJunkie
Book sais something like 46lbs but i was recently told by a trained subaru certified tech that torquing them at 52lbs saves you from having to retorque later. Of course you have to do it in steps, dont just start off at 46 or 52lbs. i think you want to do 17lbs, then 30 something, then 46. And theres a special pattern as well. The owners manual has all the info you need. -Brian
