nathan
I did a search and couldn't find anyone that said what exactly is needed from a junkyard to do the swap. I am curious if conventional struts will bolt right in or is it necessary to swap anything on the a arms or shock towers. This is for a 93 legacy AWD wagon with current air ride malfunctioning. And no, I don't want to keep band-aiding the air system.
roger1
On the 1986 models there was no problem, just get the structs from recyler. For you now I would look at yours and another car that was conventional and decide for yourself. If you cannot have someone help you, the recyler should be that helpful!
GLCraig
Struts from a 93 or 94 AWD wagon should bolt right in. There maybe some from later models that will bolt in too. Struts from a sedan may not match up right in the rear 2wd struts may not match either.
Legacy777
You might want to try searching a little better next time. Here's two threads you may want to read. I do recall there being another one with pics in it. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2527&perpage=25&highlight=air%20strut%20swap&pagenumber=1 http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1177&highlight=air+strut+swap
gotsubarus
I changed over a few weeks ago... But i already had extra springs and tops laying around off a parts car. I just orderd front and rear struts from Car Quest.... put the springs and spring caps on and installed. The rear spring caps or top or what ever you want to call it has to be off a 92 to 94 AWD the front can be off FWD or AWD
