Gl-boost
I have a leak under the drivers side rear seat. Its under the car off course but its in this area about half a foot in. There are two metal fuel lines in this area and they go inside the floor through a rubber gromet. How can I fix these lines. They are replaceable and hopefully can be easilty accesible. I hope so, just put the car on the road today (87 Gl-10 turbo) its an automatic and I got 48 miles on 3 gallons of gas with the leak, so I think it should be better with it fixed. Its a steady drip at idle and its letting the gas back feed in the lines so its hard to start.
rallyruss
the fuel lines run along the inside of the body and them go thru the grommit to the fuel pump. correct repair would be a pain in the rear. you may be able to get by temporarily with wraping a section of split hose over the hole and applying a clamp otherwise you really need to replace the whole metal line assy. rallyruss
your rear seat flips up real easy. subarus have a small strap that you pull to release the latch on the back edge of the seat. go ahead and look under there. dont be afraid just start chasing the fuel line untill you find the leak. [HTi]Johnson
Hello. That strap for the rear seat is in the center. It may be tucked under the seat so you might have to dig your hand around between the seats.
Gl-boost
I looked at my rear seat and its bolted down, took out the bolt and I can see the three lines easily. Does anyone know what size all three hoses are, I need to get the rubber fuel hoses to cut and replace the rusted ones.
[HTi]Johnson
Your seat should come up...if it's a wagon, is it?

heartless
Not all Subies have the flip up seat...have an 88 coupe that doesnt, it is bolted down as well. Had a similar problem with my wagon, it was actually leaking inside the car, and simply replaced the bad section with quality rubber line and good hose clamps...cant remember the size at the moment tho. if possible, cut a small chunk of the bad line off and take it to the parts stoire to match sizes, get plenty of the rubber hose (generally sold by the foot - extra is always a good thing) and cut it to length yourself when making the repair so you know you have enough. Good luck with the repair
