alkalineJUSTYtrio
Got me a radiator (new to me), local junkyard found it for me from a few counties over, $55 more down the drain. Got it fired up (starts like a champ, ran like a top) to find that the water pump leaks. Haven't gone to tear into it yet, but is there a gasket there that might be shot? Reckon something is gone amuck and I'm gonna be throwin more money down the drain? I don't know how long the car was run without/low on coolant, what is the likelyhood of the head being cracked? rallyruss
run without coolant is always bad. there is an oring seal at the water pump and a small hose attaced to the block that may be the suspects as well.

Yea, I know it is bad, but I was wondering if the little 3 cylinder can take some abuse (however many miles w/o coolant to the mechanic's shop), or if I can expect a total rebuild of the Justy. I think it might be the O-ring since it appears to be leaking around where the pump meets the block. Is there a rebuild kit for the water pump? Where should I get the o-ring (no local Subaru dealer, would have to order off the internet)?

I assumed it was an EA motor.:-\ just replace the water pump.the dont cost that much. a compression test would be a good thing to do if you are not sure of the motors internal condition in addition to pressure testing the cooling system. alkalineJUSTYtrio
rockauto.com didn't have a water pump, should I just get the gasket or go ahead and get the rebuild kit? Also, is there a FSM avaliable for the Justy?
alkalineJUSTYtrio
Find new water pump, get just the gasket, or get the rebuild kit (gasket, seals, impeller)? Where can I get a FSM for the 1993 Justy (it's a Gen 2, right?)
