What's Left To Mod For Offroad?

I've been thinking of doing this on my Forester for the rear e-brake. I tried searching with no luck, so does anyone have any install tips or links?
I installed a turning brake like they use on sandrails it hooks up to the hydrolic lines , for the rear brakes , get the one with the smaller pistons for more force,

LSD does not compete with the welded rear end.

Not even close. Removing an axle or more likely

installing an axle before wheeling is not a big deal.

Driving with a welded diff is not as bad as I thought

it would be. I have noticed a little more wear on my

back lugs since I decided to leave my axle in all the time.

If you weld the diff right...you'll never break it.

You may break other things but the spider gears

can't break if they are one big ball of weld. I have

yet to spin a front wheel with the rear welded--even

uphill around a corner on loose gravel while flooring it.

Too much traction!

Dual Ebrakes will allow you to transfer power to the

wheel that needs it. If your back is locked, it won't

slip even with a rear wheel in the air. If you have

dual Ebrakes, you'll be able to apply power to the

front wheel that needs it. Disclaimer: (because of

my traction I have never had to use the Ebrake system yet)

Glenn,

84 GL Mad Max--still a virgin

01 Forester--yet another virgin

Thanks! Now I see the two options, either the sandrail hydraulic system, or a modification using two handles pulling on the parking brake cables individually. On my Forester, the parking brake is on the rear discs.

The sandrail one looks real promising, among other links I found this one, that explains it pretty well: http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Dunes/4099/turn.html

I'm a little concerned about the comment on breaking the differential. I suppose on the sand you'd be using them all the time, I just want it for the occassional time when I have diagonal tires spinning, and I'm wondering why I paid extra money to get the worthless rear VLSD!
