I found a few Loyale sedans, one GL sedan, the Loyale wagon that was there seemed to be in relatively good shape body wise...a few rust spots but nothing major. I saw a few SVX's and an XT6 in the mix..it was mostly legacy's snd outbacks, but there was a ************load of cars there. The whits outback sedan(SUS) in the pictures seemed to have a lift kit or something on it because it was definitely higher than stock and it only hasd 3500 miles on it and it was a 99. subie94 Posted March 20, 2006 Share Posted March 20, 2006 man,i wish the j/y's around me had that many soobs.the closest one is so disorginized that you have to really look to find the car you need parts from,the next closest has maybe 6-8 (mostly already stripped) and the last one (2 towns only) i'm lucky if they have 4-5 (and them too are pretty much picked clean) i could live at the yard you found. subie94 Posted March 20, 2006 Share Posted March 20, 2006 You're not alone. holy moly, that is a ton of subarus!! wish the yards near me were like that! not sure if it's the smells,scenary,or what but i feel completly at ease when i'm at one. oh btw-anyone have unsafe j/y's around you.the closest one usually have stacks of crushed cars placed near the main paths you need to walk down.nothing like walking by and seeing about 9-12,000 lbs of crushed cars standing 15-20ft in the air.haven't been to that yard in several yrs cause of the unsafe feelings. Jack in Norfolk Posted March 20, 2006 Share Posted March 20, 2006 I love going to junk yards and just looking around. You get a chance to stop and check out so many different types of cars. You can look at the engines and the interiors and what wheels they had and nobody hassles you. One unsafe thing around here is that many of the junk yards are in the Great Dismal Swamp. Its a really environmentally significant wetland and the water table is getting screwed up because of all of the petrolium runoff from the junkyards. The landfills nearby don't help things either.
