REXSPEEDWORTHY
nice job man, it looks great, actually, it looks almost factory:brow: how does your alt. handle all the lights and extra speakers? is it still ok? i was considering a ea81 or gm alt swap on my 78 It will look factory after I take the grill back off and paint some things up from the dremel damage. Gotta turn it a little too (the eye it kinda cockeyed right now:lol: ). I don't think I'm putting a whole more on the alt, the stereo only has two speakers total, and the 3rd eye, and one neon tube. I just worry when I hook up the amp and 10"sub in the trunk:headbang: Any suggestions for replacement alternator if/when I toast mine? I believe the original is on there now. It only has 56k original miles.
75subie
i know the GM alt swap is easy on a gen 2, and it is possible to put an ea81 alt on a gen 1, i`ll have to look around for a write up on this
hatchsub
Yeah your def going to want to get a stronger alt before you hook up a sub and amp. I fried so many alts before i figured out that it was my amp and subs that were killing them. Ive since taken the subs and amp out and put a jy alt in and it hasnt given me any problems so far. I need to get a capacitor or a stronger alt or both before i put the subs back in. For alts you could go one of of two routes..the gm swap (theres an article of how to on here somewhere) or the XT6 alt (i think that should work for your motor too but dont quote me considering i dont own an EA71). Wow, maybe I'll just keep the sub and amp out. It sounds pretty good already.

You can see the motor. The whole thing actually leans forward, but the light can be adjusted all the way up to compensate.
