StormTrooper
Upon doing my research for a write-up on swapping an XT steering rack into a L-series or Loyale, I found this very well written 8-page Acrobat Reader that covers all the different types of Subaru Steering systems, and it turns out there are more differences in the XT steering rack than I had previously thought or was able to fathom.. MAjor difference is that the XT rack is aluminum, as opposed to (steel?). There are different types of seals, and something else too... What's cool is the electronically controlled XT6 steering system, which seems to be the most superior of the swappable systems to EA82 vehicles, plus having the tightest ratio: 3.2 Lock-to-Lock. I am now convinced the XT rack is tighter than the Loyale rack, but not as tight as the XT6 rack. http://www.endwrench.com/pdf/steering/FtSteeringSystemsSp99.pdf
