torxxx
Alright guys, got a few questions. Start with the easy one. How many of these RX coupes did subaru sell in 1988? Any of you guys have close up shots of your engine bay (prefferably stock)? I got some vac lines that were unplugged when I got the car, and I got no clue where all they go. I need shots taken from the turbo side of the car. one between the oil fill neck and the TBI and then a shot from behind next to the turbo. looking at the WGDS and the boost switch. Also where is the cruise control unit located under the hood? I have a round diaphram looking vacumn deal under the WGDS bracket with two vacumn lines coming off it. The bottom nipple is green. I'm assuming that is the cruise control unit? Sorry bout all the noob questions. This is my first EA82T that I've owned. Its gonna be my baby, so I wanna get everything hooked up the right way. thanks in advance

torxxx
I'm guessing the 89 would be closer to my year. I'm not sure when they changed the systems over. I think it goes 85-86 were the gen 1 (not really but as an example) and 87-89 were gen 2. Saying this I mean the vac line setup and the whole intake and everything So yea, either way both would work. thanks man. I sent you a pm with my email. tizzle
I have an 88 as well. I will try to get some good pictures later. I'd have to try to label them too, for them to make much sense.
torxxx
thanks a lot guys. I drove the car today after playing around with stuff. GODDAMN I love the power of the turbo. I think me and this car are gonna get along just fine. Its still a lil smokey, but the car did sit for a year without running. What kind of oil do you guys reccomend for it? I was thinking 10W30 Mobil one Synthetic, but I'm gonna see how much of a leaker it is first.

Jerry DeMoss
Torxxx are you planning on resealing the engine?Like cam seals and such? Are you planning on gutting the cat and putting a larger exhaust on there?I know that you had mentioned rally earlier and thought I would definately do the same if I got a car like that.Long travel suspension! + power = FUN! Also I would second the notion on the mobil1 10w30.That is my favorite engine oil for anything.A friend of mine once ran his for 15k and then drained it like nothing happened.Good stuff. torxxx
Yes the exhaust is gonna get chopped. Gonna have to use a different downpipe for the TD04 to bolt up anyways right? my buddy called me last night, said his buddy at work just upgraded his WRX turbo so he's gonna try to snag me the TD04. I am going to put Delta cams in it, but thats after it gets intercooled, boost gauge, A/F gauge, boost controller. So its got a lil while before the engine is gonna get ripped apart.
