starkiller
have an 86 carbed wgn and the air intake goes from the snorkel and then down and aims at the passenger side of the engine block and stops....no curving back towards the front of the car to gather some oncoming air...as anyone run a hose from the end of the snorkel to just in back of the headlight? or any other ideas?? Subarian
There's probably not a lot of air flow behind the headlight, but you can collect some cold air behind the headlight on the passenger side inner fender well. There's an opening there that's the cold air intake on the fuel injected EA82s.
bgd73
It should have something as a snorkel going towards fender (my early 87 did) The material is quite easily weakened after 20 years so it may have been intentionally taken off. Interesting fix would be cold air aluminum pipe up to end of air cleaner, and let the engine bounce to something flexible to keep it together and sealed Hey, did you try out the exhaust idea? pheonix165
your thinking about it the wrong way. behind the headlight has fresh air but no more then the fender, when are comes through the front of the car some goes through the rad and some goes around. some of that are in an attempt to get out of the car goes into the void between the substructure and the fender. not the freshest air but still colder then air inside the engine bay itself
