Caboobaroo Posted April 23, 2006 Share Posted April 23, 2006 Quick question. Will hydro lifter heads fit properly onto a solid lifter block without modification? The block I'm using is a solid lifter EA81 from a '81 2wd wagon and heads from a hydro lifter EA81 from a '85 Brat. I get my parts for my engine on Wednseday so then I get to tear into it and do a nice reseal before I drop this engine into my '78 Brat. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GeneralDisorder Posted April 23, 2006 Share Posted April 23, 2006 There are only two types of heads - large valve and small valve. There really is no such thing as "hydro lifter" heads. They are just large valve heads with the hydro rocker assembly. So yes - they will work fine. But your cam may not be correct for the larger intake valves.
