Uberoo
My saab's starter died so I ordered a starter off ebay.the online junkyark sent an alternator rather than the starter which I need.It is all sorted out a starter is on the way.Anyway can the 80 amp alternator be adapted to fit?engine is subaru 1800 carby.I really should focus more on finding a new engine but I cant find any in local classifieds and I dont want to pay shipping...so yea I wonder if it will fit?alternator is a bosch unit from a 1990 saab... GeneralDisorder
Look at alternator. Look at Subaru. Determine if you can make it fit. Isn't your engine lunch?? GD
Uberoo
it is lunch.right now Im bored becuase Im playing "Vampire". a medical procedure was done on my skin so Im photosenitive till saterday.I cant even go to school because the light reflecting in from the windows wound make my skin super red...I suppose I could wait to figure out.How hard is it to normally swap pullies? the pulley on the saab alternator has many ribs as oposed to subaru style pulley... GeneralDisorder
Most alts the pulley is just bolted on. I use an impact to get them off, and usually they swap around no problem. But really it's much easier to use a GM three wire alt. It's almost a drop in. Just turn the alt over, and bend the outside bracket a bit on the EA81.
